World Mental Health Day 2024: SIMHAR Hosts Awareness Rally Inaugurated by MP V.K. Sreekandan

In celebration of World Mental Health Day 2024, SIMHAR (Shalom Institute of Mental Health & Research) organised a powerful awareness rally on 10 October, highlighting this year's theme, “Prioritise Mental Health at the Workplace.” The event was officially inaugurated by the Honourable Palakkad MP, V.K. Sreekandan, who delivered an inspiring speech about the importance of workplace mental health awareness.

In his keynote speech, MP V.K. Sreekandan emphasised the importance of fostering mental health awareness in professional environments. Participation of colleges from Palakkad district

The rally saw an overwhelming response from local educational institutions, with nearly 400 students from various colleges across Palakkad district actively participating. Their energy and enthusiasm brought the event to life as they took part in spreading mental health awareness. Students from the Department of Psychology and other disciplines engaged in meaningful discussions, making the event an enriching experience for everyone.

Adding a creative flair to the day's activities, students showcased their talents through mime performances and other cultural activities, all aimed at highlighting the significance of mental health, particularly in the workplace. These performances captured the attention of attendees, using art to communicate complex mental health issues in a way that was both engaging and thought-provoking.
